Straight talk: some links on this site are affiliate links, and a commission reaches us when a reader books through one. What you pay does not change because of it, and no operator, platform or hotel can buy a place on these pages. The cable car itself is run by Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation, which has no involvement in this site.

Where The Affiliate Commission Comes From

Every ticket button on Maokong Gondola, and every in-text link to the ticket, opens the same live listing on Klook, which is where this ticket is sold, and that link carries our affiliate tag. When a booking follows one of those clicks, Klook shares part of the fee it already charges the seller. The commission comes out of the platform's own margin, so the ticket costs exactly what it would if you had found the listing yourself.

Two smaller arrangements sit alongside it, and both work the same way. The free walking tour named on our budget guide is a GuruWalk listing, joined through an affiliate referral link; GuruWalk tours are free or pay what you want, so what the guide receives at the end is entirely your decision. Hotel links near Taipei Zoo Station point to Expedia, again through an affiliate link that pays a commission on a completed stay, with the room rate unchanged.

That is the whole arrangement. Affiliate commission on tickets, on the walking tour and on hotel stays is the only income this site takes: no display advertising, no sponsored articles, no paid placement and no payment from the operator. If another partner is ever added, this disclosure page will say so before the first link goes live rather than quietly afterwards.

What Affiliate Commission Never Buys

• A place on the site. The ticket, the walking tour and the hotels are here because they are real, currently bookable and honestly described. Affiliate commission does not decide what appears and would not keep anything here that stopped being true.
• Position or emphasis. Nobody has paid to be listed first, and nobody was offered the chance. Where one ticket option is called the better buy, that follows from what the listing itself publishes, and the affiliate commission is identical whichever option you choose.
• The words on the page. Ratings and review counts are the platform's own published figures, printed as they stand. An affiliate commission does not soften a weak number, and the gaps this site cannot fill are named as gaps.
• Silence about the free options. Walking up through the trails, riding the free Maokong Tour Bus that any gondola passenger can board the same day, or buying the fare at the gate all earn this site no affiliate commission, and all three are covered here anyway.
• A different price for you. An affiliate link and a plain link land on the same listing at the same price. The commission is a share of what the platform already keeps, never an addition to your total.

Ratings And Fares That Affiliate Commission Does Not Touch

The ticket listing publishes a rating of 4.7 from about 11,700 reviews and a starting price of about $9.49 per person, and those are the figures printed here, unrounded and unblended. Prices move with the date, the option, the exchange rate and the party size, so the live listing is always the authority. Gate fares are set by the operator, not by any platform: NT$180 for a single ride and NT$300 for the one-day pass, flat since 3 March 2025, and no affiliate commission changes either number.

Booking Without The Affiliate Commission

You can skip our links completely and nothing on this site changes. Buy the fare at the gate at Taipei Zoo Station with cash or a stored-value card, or search for the listing yourself and book it there. The comparisons, the fare tables and the FAQ read exactly the same whether or not an affiliate link is ever clicked, and no affiliate commission depends on your choice. No page here is written to make the free route harder to find. The point of the site is a good day on the mountain, not the referral.
